New Canopy Tour Partnership with City of Arcata

REDWOOD PARK, A NEW HOME TO CANOPY TOURS:
Building on the partnership between the City of Arcata and the North Coast Adventure Centers (NCAC) that brought the installation of a high and low ropes course to Redwood Park last February (2008), City of Arcata staff and prominent community members got to experience the first combined Segway and Canopy Tour anywhere in the world at the Grand Opening, April 24 in Redwood Park.

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held to celebrate the expansion of the ropes course built last year to include a canopy tour and a Segway tour operated by NCAC. An interactive Segway demonstration was be featured along with a series of informative talks about the collaboration with the City and Arcata Chamber of Commerce to promote a business opportunity that also includes benefits for local school and youth groups, non-profits, and the Humboldt economy.

Program Highlight, Partner Highlight

In May NCAC lead a Sea Kayaking team challenge day for Humboldt County Office of Education's Transition Partnership Program. This program was lead in conjunction with Humboats Sea Kayaking, who delivers NCAC kayaking programs. Partnering based on strengths, for a better program - and community.

We expanded our Comfort Zones on and off the water through activities that challenged us to support each other, communicate effectively, and learn new things. We had a blast!
