North Coast Adventure Center's (NCAC) is planning for a BIG IMPACT in 2010!

2009 marked the transition from O'Connor and Associates LLC to North Coast Adventure Centers Inc.  NCAC is structured as a employee-owned corporation, a CO-OP model.  This means that most of our departments are run by employee owners and the organization's decisions are being made locally by activity experts.

One of our goals in to help shape Humboldt as an adventure destination.  National Geographic's November article on Redwoods highlighted Humboldt's natural and unique beauty, http://www.nationalgeographic.com/redwoods.  We are moving toward success with this goal by training people in a variety of adventures and sending them out to work throughout the world.  We are also attracting tourists to come to the area and stay longer by offering outdoor tours.

NCAC strives to partner with the best guides, naturalists, and organizations to serve the North Coast outdoor community. We are currently partnering with the following programs, organizations, and companies:

• Far North Climbing Gym: office space/store front, outdoor climbing, and general community building
• City of Arcata Recreation: adventure training partnership and park permitting
• Straight-Up Americorps: adventure training and job placement partnership
• Step-Up For Youth Jobs: adventure training and job placement 
• Humboldt County Office of Education, Court and Community Schools: adventure training and job placement partnership
• Revolution Bicycle and Repair: bicycle rentals
• North Coast Co-Op: lunch and meals partnership
• Redwoods and Rivers: retreat location, ropes course management, and river rafting
• Humboats: sea kayaking partnership
• Del Norte School District: ropes course management partnership
• Red Cross: authorized provider
• Hunboldt State University Recreation Administration: student training and job placement partnership
• YouthServe Americorps: training and community school education partnership
• Leave No Trace: outfitter/guide
• Girl Scouts: authorized vender 
• Peggy Pryor Photography: pictures for clients
