Adventure Training
This is a foundation course for all outdoor and indoor adventure guiding and facilitation programming. The material presented is not specific to any activity. You will learn tools and techniques that can be used in many settings, from small guided groups to large institutional groups. Learn to work with a youth, adults and special needs populations. You will gain a basic understanding of the experiential learning cycle, the stages of group development, leading groups on traditional native lands, and how to facilitate purposeful group communications. You will explore the core ethical issues of guiding, leading and facilitating clients. We will introduce you to the concepts of peak fun, challenge by choice, the full value contract (group agreement), and Leave no Trace principals and practices. This course will help you use games, including ice breakers, name games, energizers, get acquainted activities, and peer feedback all as adventure tools.
