Leave No Trace Trainer Course

Learn how to teach Leave No Trace Skills and Ethics

 

Trainer courses are designed for educators, guides, agency employees, outdoor professionals, and all who possess a passion for responsible recreation. Successful graduates of the Trainer Course gain the skills necessary to teach Leave No Trace Awareness Workshops to their clients, friends and family.

Participants learn the concepts of Leave No Trace and prepare to teach Leave No Trace curriculum in a variety of settings such as- schools, camps, parks, wilderness and front country areas. Course topics include the underlying seven principles which make up the skills and ethics of Leave No Trace:

  • Plan Ahead and Prepare
  • Travel and Camp on Durable Surfaces
  • Dispose of Waste Properly 
  • Leave What You Find
  • Minimize Campfire Impacts
  • Respect Wildlife
  • Be Considerate of Other Visitors

All graduates will receive a Trainer Certificate, and have the right to conduct Leave No Trace Awareness Workshops.  

NCAC has teamed up with former Leave No Trace Traveling Trainers and Master Educators Topher Marlatt and Alexis Ollar to offer this course.
