Rock Climbing Guiding Fundamentals
This course will introduce you to the skills and techniques required to guide groups and individuals on natural rock. Gain tips on how to bring the group together and gain the necessary trust before climbing. You will learn how to safely teach and manage bouldering; how to ensure good spotting by participants, manage objective risks, the use of crash mats and when to use protection. Together we will explore the physical and psychological issues involved in leading top roping expeditions. Learn how to evaluate and set up existing, site specific, anchors; how and when to teach participants to belay; choosing routes that allow participants to succeed but still be challenged; manage both those on the rock and those on the ground.
