River Guide School
Redwoods and Rivers has been leading its 6-day River Guide program for close to 20 years. Every year people in transition come to Redwoods and Rivers to experience the healing power of rivers and the people that surround them. Among the many topics covered are: paddle guiding rafts, reading whitewater, anatomy of rivers, outdoor food preparation for groups, natural and cultural history, outdoor leadership, river safety, river etiquette, and basic swiftwater rescue techniques. Teamwork and decision making are taught and practiced throughout our school. Redwoods and Rivers Guide School is a noncompetitive program designed for anyone wishing to gain knowledge of running rivers, and for the river enthusiast wanting to become a professional river guide.

North Coast Adventure Centers is partnered with Humboldt State Universities office of Extended Education (California State University). We offer 2 units of Recreation credit to community members and High School students that are at least Juinors with at 3.0 GPA or greater.
